Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water
in Laredo, TX

The A550 is a 5-stage reverse osmosis system, 6 with the optional alkaline filter. It sits under your kitchen sink and gives you a dedicated tap of low-TDS water for drinking, cooking, coffee and baby formula. NSF/ANSI 58 certified. I test your tap water first so you can see the before and after on paper.

Why Laredo Families Add RO

Legal to drink. Not the same as clean.

Laredo's city water meets every federal limit set by the EPA. The Environmental Working Group applies stricter health-based guidelines to the same test data, and for the 2021 to 2023 sampling period it flagged 13 contaminants above its guidelines out of 31 detected, the highest at 715 times the guideline. The list is mostly disinfection byproducts from chlorine (haloacetic acids and trihalomethanes), plus nitrate and uranium.

Reverse osmosis pushes water through a membrane with pores small enough to reject dissolved solids, which is why it is the treatment most people use when they want drinking water that tests low across the board. It is also what makes coffee, tea and ice taste like the water was never there.

The A550

What happens under the sink.

1
Stages 1 to 3: pre-filters
A sediment filter and two carbon filters catch grit and chlorine before they reach the membrane, which protects it and extends its life.
2
Stage 4: RO membrane
Water is pushed through the membrane. Dissolved solids, metals and most contaminants are rejected and sent to the drain.
3
Storage tank
Treated water fills a small pressurized tank under the sink, so you have a few gallons ready at any time.
4
Stage 5: polishing filter and tap
A final carbon stage on the way to a dedicated faucet at the sink. Want minerals back? The optional alkaline filter adds a sixth stage for taste and a higher pH. We can also feed the fridge and ice maker.

NSF/ANSI 58 certified

NSF/ANSI 58 is the standard for point-of-use reverse osmosis systems. It covers material safety, structural integrity and the contaminant reduction claims on the label.

Bottled water, retired

No more cases from H-E-B or 5-gallon jugs. Fill from the tap. Families tell me the first thing they notice is how much less they carry.

Installed and serviced by us

My crew installs it in a couple of hours. Filter changes are on a schedule we set with you, and Azul Care members get them done on our visit.

Softener for the house. RO for the glass.

A softener protects your plumbing and appliances. The A550 handles what you drink. Most Laredo homes I install end up with both, and the RO membrane lasts longer when the water feeding it is already soft.

RO Questions

What people ask about reverse osmosis.

Does reverse osmosis waste water?+×

Every RO sends some water to the drain to carry away what the membrane rejected. On a drinking-water system the volume is small because you only treat what you drink and cook with, not the whole house. I'll show you the drain line at install.

How often do the filters change?+×

Pre-filters and the polishing filter on a regular schedule, the membrane much less often. The exact interval depends on your water and how much you use, so I set it with you at install and write it on the unit.

Does it remove the good minerals too?+×

Yes. RO lowers TDS across the board, minerals included. That is what gives it the clean taste. Your diet is where your minerals come from, not tap water. If you prefer the taste of mineral water, the optional alkaline filter is a sixth stage that adds calcium and magnesium back and raises the pH. I don't make health claims about water either way; I show you the numbers and you decide.

Can it feed my refrigerator and ice maker?+×

Yes, if the fridge is within reach of the sink cabinet. We run a line from the RO to the fridge so ice and the door dispenser get the same water.
